THE COKE DEAL
by Artist Frank Campagna
June 8, 9, and 10, 2002
I was recently contacted by a representative for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of North Texas
to assist them in celebrating their 100 year anniversary here in the Dallas / Fort Worth area.
This is a "before" shot of a parking lot where the first Coke was sold in this area on June 10th, 1902.
I was assisted on this mural project by five aerosol artists, Vert, Ucron, Somber and Sonor and Jason... who usually "tag" this lot.
This is an "after" shot... after two long days of painting hard in preparation for the party!.
To preserve integrity in this corporate undertaking tags names were incorporated on the four corners of this piece.
High School contest winner, Terence Sweatt, designed this center piece, and participated as well .
This view is of another area where a historical marker was unveiled.by Mayor of Dallas, Laura Miller.
This was placed on yet another wall to fill in the atmosphere.
Special thanks go out to Susan Jacobs, Vert, Ucron, Somber, Sonor, Jason and my son, Frank, for their help on this massive project!
Congratulations to Terence and best of luck in all future endeavors!
